Trafford FirstVoices Publishing Program
This page contains information about the Trafford FirstVoices Publishing Program (TFVPP), The TFVPP is offered to Indigenous language communities lacking the financial resources and/or support of outside agencies capable of funding the publication of books or language teaching resources in their Indigenous language.

Here you can download the application form. You can also find a page of Frequently Asked Questions, Guidelines to the application form, and the Criteria List which outlines the general eligibility to the program. One Green Tree
“One Green Tree - Counting with Colours in SENCOTEN”

The SENCOTEN language edition of “One Green Tree” is a collaboration between teachers and students at the LÁU,WELNEW Tribal School, the First Peoples’ Cultural Foundation and Trafford Publishing. It is the first in a series of five BC Aboriginal language books to be published. This 16-page primer is intended to teach colours and numbers in SENCOTEN, the language of the Saanich people.
Authors, Adriane Bill, Roxanne Cayou and Jacqueline Jim have been students of LÁU,WELNEW since kindergarten and have a strong connection to their Saanich language and heritage.
Illustrator and language teacher John Elliott has illustrated several publications relating to the language and culture of the Saanich people.
