HOW YOUR GIFT IS USED

The FirstVoices project is the first of its kind in the world. Its purpose is to archive Indigenous languages that may otherwise be lost forever.

We need to raise C$1.5 million in order to complete and implement the project. Once launched the online language archives will give worldwide access for users to learn a language. Statistics has shown that a majority of Indigenous people wish to learn their traditional language.

Funds will be used to develop curriculum, train recorders of language information including audio and video files, create programs for schools and publications and provide other complementary programs to benefit First Nations communities.
