DR. EVAN ADAMS

Evan Tlesla Adams is a Coast Salish actor and writer from the Sliammon Band near Powell River, B.C., Canada. Adams is a alumnus of St. Michaels University School and of Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific. He stars in the Emmy-winning TV-movie Lost in the Barrens and most recently stars as Thomas Builds-The-Fire in ShadowCatcher Entertainment’s SMOKE SIGNALS. Aside from his career in the arts, in May 2002, Adams received his Medical Degree from the University of Calgary.

JOELY COLLINS

Joely Collins began her acting career with dramatic studies at the Vancouver Youth Theatre and then at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England. She won a Gemini Award for her work as Rachael Langston on the critically acclaimed television series Madison. Collins is currently on screen and recently nominated for a Leo award for her starring role as “Christine Wren” in the long-running CTV drama series Cold Squad. Joely has been busy working on The Final Cut, a feature film starring Robin Williams.

THE GWA’WINA DANCERS

The Gwa’wina or Raven Dancers are from Alert Bay — a small island off the northeast tip of Vancouver Island, B.C. They belong to the Kwakwaka’wakw or Kwak`wala Speaking People. It is through song and dance that they celebrate and reenact their ancient stories. From time immemorial the Kwakwaka’wakw have been admired for their dancing and theatrics.

LEONARD GEORGE

Leonard George is the youngest son of the late
Chief Dan George. Leonard was born and raised
in North Vancouver and is a proud member of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation (Slay-Wah-Tuth), Children
of Takaya (children of the wolf clan) the Original People of the Burrard Inlet. He is a traditionalist, spiritual leader and economic development vision-ary. An actor by training, his screen credits include Man of the House, White Fang, Inbreaker, Mr. Cabe and Mrs. Miller, Little Big Man, Americathon, Shadow of the Hawk, Smith and Dan Candy’s Law, Kevin of the North, Stick Up and Skins.

GEORGE LEACH
THE GEORGE LEACH BAND

George was raised in the Sta'atl'imx Nation, located in the mountains of Lillooet, BC. He is a multi-disciplined artist who has achieved success as a musician, actor and visual artist. At the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards 2000, he won Best Male Artist of the Year and Best Rock Album and was nominated for Best Song Writer. George has worked with respected artists such as Robbie Robertson, Powder Blues, Susan Aglukark and Bo Diddley. His songs have made the top ten list including number one song.
